KM 101 - Introductory Session (Units 1-3)

KM 101 Training Course
Practical introduction for those working with knowledge

Do you find your organisation keeps reinventing the wheel?
Do improvements in productivity always transfer to other parts of your
organisation?
Are opportunities missed because information is not available to the right person at the
       right time?

Why are Knowledge Management skills so important?
Knowledge Management is the art of transforming information and intellectual assets into enduring value for your clients and your people.  A well trained knowledge worker aims to:

Improve performance By leveraging the expertise, experience and skills of employees, managers and executives
Enable better and faster decision making By communicating important information widely and quickly
Accelerate delivery to customers By reusing and readapting ideas, documents and expertise
Increasing productivity By avoiding redundant effort and repeating the same mistakes
Stimulating innovation and growth By sponsoring relationships between organisational thought leaders
Protect future capability By duplicating scarce expertise so it is preserved and widely available
Spread best practice By taking advantage of existing experience, minimising the need for consultants
