SIRF Roundtables in New South Wales currently comprises in excess of 40 progressive organisations that are willing to network and share their best practices in a peer to peer learning environment, specialising in Operational Excellence and Industrial Maintenance.

The ‘Common Interest Work Group’ (CIWG) events are for operators/technical specialists looking to discuss with peers, specific topics they are working on, in and around their field of excellence.
In this CIWG we will be looking at developing supply contracts.

We very rarely enforce our supply agreements, so why bother developing them in the first place?

Their intention is simple; to ensure that both parties have a formal agreement, in regards to expectations and performance, for the supply of products or services.

Some companies have complex supply agreements with their vendors, and some simply work on a hand shake. Most major organisations insist on supply agreements and performance expectations; but it is a mine field to determine what exactly is required to form a good working contract.

Developing supply contracts is an area that the legal fraternity has a field day, and as mentioned above it is a contract that rarely comes into force, as normally the best outcome is for both parties to assist each other in the time of crisis.

Some of the discussions for the day will be around::

- Formal versus informal agreements?
- What should form the basis of a supply agreement?
- Can you have a common agreement for all suppliers?
- What are some of the key measures?
- Key issues faced?

Key objective of the workshop will be to leave participants with an understanding of the benefits and challenges of developing supplier agreements, and give an insight into what can work.
So please come along to this Common Interest Working Group and share what you are doing in developing supplier agreements.
This event is ideal for:
Purchasing, warehousing, contract negotiators or anyone involved in the supplier contract development process (preferably not legal specialists).
