Half Day Workshop

Project Management 101This half day workshop will introduce participants to the basics of project management. Targeting supervisors, team leaders, maintenance personnel and operators involved in continuous improvement efforts, this course will provide an understanding of the project management methodology commonly used in industry. This will enable participants to understand and participate in projects at their own workplace, and provide the foundations for planning and executing their own (small scale) continuous improvement projects.

Participants will also learn "the lingo" and be able to understand and fully participate in projects run by others. We will cover examples of project documentation, and participants will leave with a handy guide for future reference.

  • Benefits of PM for users
  • The project management cycle
  • Balancing or prioritizing constraints (scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, risks).
  • How to set up simple check-gates to keep projects on track
  • How to read a gantt chart

  • "Right Size" project management for continuous improvement
  • Avoiding common pitfalls in Project Management
