IMRt CIWG - Critical Spares

SIRF Roundtables presents
Industrial Maintenance Roundtable
Common Interest Workgroup
Critical Spares
Hosted by:  Unity Water
SIRF Roundtables in Queensland currently comprises in excess of 40 progressive organisations that are willing to network and share their best practices in a peer to peer learning environment, specialising in Operational Excellence and Industrial Maintenance.

‘Common Interest Work Group’ (CIWG) events are for technical specialists looking to discuss with peers, specific topics they are working on, in and around their field of excellence.
What does holding all of your maintenance inventory cost you? What does NOT holding a critical item cost you? How do you decide what to hold?

Often we over estimate how much stock we actually need; on one hand this can lead to excessive monitoring of inventory, and on the other it can even lead to unnecessary maintenance as machines break down because the spares had deteriorated while waiting to be used!

Of course, the opposite is also true; cut the inventory levels too deep and you end up with downtime that you can't afford.  Come along to this event and discuss topics like:

 - The new 'big focus' on risk-based thinking
 - Making holding decisions based on facts, not fear
 - Simple mechanisms for organising inventory
 - OEM vs Aftermarket
 - Who is your source for custom parts manufacturing?
 - Streamlining the procurement process
This event is ideal for:

Store persons, Maintenance Managers, Workshop Supervisors, Planners and anyone interested in this topic for discussion
