Site Tour - GM Holden Assembly Plant

Site Tour - GM Holden Assembly Plant

"GMS" Overview and Plant Tour

Hosted By:
GM HoldenSIRF Roundtables is proud to present this opportunity to visit the GM Holden Elizabeth Assembly Plant.

While there is a lot to see at the Holden plant, our tour and most of our discussion will focus on the GMS Production System (their implementation of Lean Thinking).  The work environment at Holden is complex: mixed model production and options on vehicles mean that each car has a different assembly time at nearly every work station.  Despite that and the imminent closure of the plant, the people at Holden have shown incredible tenacity and leadership, and are aiming their sites on being the highest performing assembly plant in GM's fleet - and they probably will make it!

During this event we will have:
  • GMS Overview
  • How people have been and stay engaged in the toughest circumstances out on the shop floor
  • An overview of the Transition Centre
  • A plant tour of the Body and General Assembly Operations

Site Tours are tours organised around a topic or theme.  This is an opportunity for members to review best practices at another organisation and to network with others. There will be no vendor companies in attendance.   Agenda
