Backlog Management

Backlog Management

Backlog Management

ImageA growing and spiraling out of control backlog of maintenance tasks is usually one of the first signs of significant problems in maintenance management.

Good management of backlog on the other hand can mean maintenance tasks are appropriately prioritised and completed to meet business requirements, turning what can be a burden of a Backlog into what some term a "Front Log" and a "Ready Backlog" to level out swings in workload and changes to supporting operating decisions.

What is your system for Backlog management? Come hear what others have been doing, share where you are at, and talk about ways to improve in this important area. At this event we will discuss topics like:
Backlog Measure
  • Prioritising and reducing a backlog
  • Frontlog and Ready backlog
  • Measuring and monitoring backlog
  • Handling work requests and break in work with a backlog
  • Communication of backlog
  • Tasks that help reduce backlog like parts kitting and work order prep
