SCRt CIWG - Identify Waste In The Warehouse

SIRF Roundtables presents
Supply Chain Roundtable
Common Interest Workgroup
Identify Waste in the Warehouse
Host to be advised
SIRF Roundtables in New South Wales currently comprises in excess of 40 progressive organisations that are willing to network and share their best practices in a peer to peer learning environment, specialising in Operational Excellence and Industrial Maintenance.

‘Common Interest Work Group’ (CIWG) events are for technical specialists looking to discuss with peers, specific topics they are working on, in and around their field of excellence.
For the last few decades LEAN practitioners have had a key focus on operations, which in most manufacturing organisations, makes some sense.  However, it is not hard to see that the trend in Australia is moving away from manufacturing and moving towards importing more products.  It is now imperative that organisations focus on LEAN principles in warehousing and the supply chain in general.

One of the key LEAN principles is the ability to identify waste in a process.  There are several models that can be utilised for this approach; they all basically focus on identifying the waste, or non value activity and then looking at removing, combining or reducing the impact.

In this workgroup we will focus on:

  • What tools are companies using?
  • Are there any common wastes we can identify?
  • What results are we seeing utilising these tools?
  • How are we gaining engagement?
  • What are we doing to ensure this is ongoing?
This event is ideal for:
Professionals from the Warehouse, CI, Operations, Planning or anyone in the Supply Chain looking to reduce waste in their processes; or share your experiences and expertise in this area.
