CIWG and Site Tour ! Role of the Maintenance Planner - Proudly hosted by Campbell's Soups Shepparton

CampbellsIn maintenance, one of the key roles is that of the Maintenance Planner. The Maintenance planner can impact heavily on the productivity of the maintenance work force and make key contribution to the quality of the work delivered. The role can be wide ranging to include planning, scheduling and coordination of all planned maintenance works.

People in that role can often have other responsibilities eg. being the custodian of the PM system, owner of the CMMS, Parts and stores, purchasing and procurement. Certainly it differs between companies what a planner should and shouldn't be involved in. Some companies have the role shared between people doing other tasks eg supervision and coordinating. Some companies do not have planners at all, while others believe in planner to trade ratios and how crucial the role can be in in supporting and delivering a culture of planned and proactive maintenance.

Campbell's Soups has over the years explored a few possibilities with the role of the Maintenance Planner with some good learnings and are kindly hosting this workshop to share their perspective on the key aspects of this role.
