Cube Factory Workshop - Flyer

Getting buy in from stake holders to support the transition to a lean production system can be difficult.  There are many misconceptions about what lean is and isn't and this can lead to a lack of clarity that can delay the improvements to your production system that lean manufacturing can bring.   

The Cube Factory Simulation Workshop gives participants a first hand understanding of the difference that using some of the principals and tools of lean production can bring. The simulation develops participatants understanding of flow, shows the impact of using tools such as kanbans and how to use data to make business decisions.

The Simulation can be addapted to work well for groups from a variety of areas within your business.

• Work crews and their leaders

• A selection of people from across your value stream - head office, supply chain, manufacturing, reliability and stores.

Having a development day or shut down?
This is an excellent site wide activity suitable for a development days or shut downs or to integrate into other on-site training
 

Program outcomes
The simulation provides the opportunity for participants to learn about lean tools and principals through experiencing them. It is able to be geared towards achieving learning about specific lean tools such as Value Stream Mapping, Standardization, Single piece flow, quality at souce, takt time, line balancing and managing bottleneck processes,

By the end of the workshop the participants will understand how 'becoming lean' can help them to become more responsive to changing customer requirements, how to develop and implement one page improvement plans and to use data to understand and improve performance.  

Participants will understand how implementing a lean production system reduces waste and cost and increases productivity.

How the simulation works
The Cube Factory requires a minimum of 10 to 12 participants to run and larger numbers can be accommodated.
We can facilitate it as a half or full day workshop.

The half day workshop includes running the simulationa and a brief session to discuss the learnings from it.

The full day workshop includes a session to identify the similarities and differences between the simulation and the operating system of the business and to apply the learnings to improvment in your operations through a discussion on how the tools identified during the simulation might be applied.
