Sydney Water indicated that they carry out their HV electrical monitoring 6 monthly. Northparkes indicated that their monitoring is done at a 12 monthly frequency and includes including off line Partial Discharge testing.

Noel from Blue Circle discussed electrical monitoring of his most critical HV drive of 3.4MW. He intends to install on-line Tan Delta and Partial Discharge (PD) monitoring. He indicated that installation of the partial discharge transducers will cost $15,000. Noel indicated that the higher the voltage the system the better warning time of faults Partial Discharge monitoring will give. He indicated for motor of 3.3kV PD monitoring is marginal.

A number of the attending organizations were using Motor Monitor Pty Ltd (Mike Davies) for monitoring services and technical support in this area.
