Common Interest Workgroup (CIWG) Activities

Each KM Roundtable Meeting identifies specific areas to explore more deeply. Interested Members form Common Interest Work Groups (CIWGs) which meet, explore the topic in more detail, then report back to the next Roundtable Meeting. Current NSW KMRt CIWGs Topics are:
  • KMRT Wiki Redesign CIWG

This CIWG will redesign the NSW KMRt Wiki. This Wiki is, in effect, the NSW KMRt Intranet-so this CIWG will attack the re-design specific for Member usefulness and usability and then “play” with the actual tools to make it happen. First hand experimenting in intranet design using the KMRT Group as a case study; better understanding of the potential of various tools through first hand experience. Deliverable=The new look wiki!

  • Organisational Sustainability CIWG

The Succession Planning & Talent Management CIWG has been a very useful and informative foundation for the CIWG topic to progress to a wider scope - that being Organisational Sustainability. It will examine and understand how to utilise KM practices to plan workforce sustainability. Deliverable= Org Sustainability

  • MasterClass

In addition to the two CIWGs scheduled between the Quarterly RoundTable Meetings we will also hold a Masterclas for a discussion and hands on interactive session about a specific topic. The MasterClass Options this quarter are: Systems Thinking; Positioning KM Strategy for Maximum Organisational Benefit and Value Network Analysis-Topic will be decided via an electronic survey of Members. Notes from Masterclass Option 1 - Systems Thinking will be uploaded onto the Wiki

Guest Presenters at RoundTables

As topics of biggest business interest to KMRt Members evolve, we invite specialists or experts in the various fields to present to the RoundTable. We also invite KM Practitioners who have done great KM work in their own organisations to come and share their real experiences in developing, implementing and measuring their KM strategies and initiatives.
